TWO POINT OH
What happens when the mortal world is invaded by an immortal one?
An unexpected event reveals that a world renowned CEO and computer genius has created a cyber copy of his brain, his human feelings, his intelligence, his memories and perceptions. His marriage, his friendships, his company, in short, his virtual world threatens to spin the mortal one out of control.

Jeffrey Jackson’s spooky play, TWO POINT OH, suspends us between reality and virtual reality. We are party to a love affair steeped in the real world. Then, suddenly we are straddling a precipice between a human one and a cyber one. The confusion is both amusing and frightening. Our mind begins to play tricks. What’s true? What’s real? What’s virtual? What’s manufactured? What’s us? What does the “Oh” in the title of the play signify?
Audiences will have great fun talking and arguing about TWO POINT OH. Does the playwright have a twinkle in his eye? Is he boggling our mind on purpose? Could technology replace human intercourse? Can virtual become reality? Will technology overtake us?
TWO POINT OH is about digital intervention into human intercourse. Are we ready?
For those who might be interested, the title of Mr. Jackson’s play can be loosely associated with the term Web 2.0 which was coined in 1999 and refers in broad terms to the exploration of the interactive capabilities of the internet, a search still hotly pursued. Where will it all end? Perhaps the word “Oh” in the title of the play is a clue?
The Repertory’s resident designer and stage director, Harry Wetzel, directs TWO POINT OH. Fortunately, Harry enjoys challenges because his imagination and directorial skills will be pushed to the limits by Mr. Jackson’s quixotic play. Harry’s track record at the Rep indicates that he will most assuredly rise to the occasion. Just last season he took a brand new play, FINDING THE BURNETT HEART to the season championship as the Subscriber Award’s Best Play on the Rep’s 2008/09 season, edging out August Wilson’s RADIO GOLF and John Patrick Shanley’s DEFIANCE.

Three of the five member Two Point Oh cast are newcomers to the Repertory Stage. One cast member has returned after a prolonged hiatus and one was a featured performer in the Rep production of DEFIANCE.
Newcomer, Monrico Ward, will portray the visionary software mogul, Eliot Leeds. His attractive wife, Melanie, will be portrayed by first-timer Satori Shakoor and newcomer, Mark Barrera, will portray Eliot’s right hand man and former college buddy, Ben Robbins.
We are pleased to announce the return of Maggie Patton to the Repertory stage. She was last seen at the Rep in 1997 when she was a part of the successful world premiere Rep production, SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN. She will portray Catherine Powell, the CEO of the software conglomerate, in the TWO POINT OH production. Finally, Mark Halpin will return to Rep stage as Jerry Gold, a slick cable T.V. personality. Last season Mark portrayed the ambitious but beleaguered Lt. Colonel in the Rep acclaimed production of DEFIANCE.
Two Point Oh opens April 1st and will run every Thursday through Sunday until May 23, 2010. Prices for all tickets, fundraisers, Bargain Booklets, and Subscriptions will remain the most affordable for Equity (union) Theatre in the Region. General admission will remain the unheard of price of $17 per ticket in advance and $20 at the door. The Rep’s “Anytime, Multi-use” Gold Double Subscription for two will remain the unmatched price of $100 per year and a Silver Single Subscription stays at $50 per year. 10-ticket Bargain Booklets, Regular and Matinee, are still $110 and $100 respectively and still make great mini-fundraisers. Annie Cross, Group Sales Manager, says that if you move quickly, you can still get a free champagne money-making, fundraiser date for “Two Point Oh.” Free champagne fundraising dates are still available for the last play on the season, “My Soldiers.”
